WATT & SHAND #6
Watt & Shand #6
The sixth in a series of works documenting the transformation of the former Watt & Shand building in Lancaster, PA into a convention center and hotel.
The façade of the historic Beaux Arts building was preserved and supported by elaborate scaffolding, and I was struck by the beauty of the lines and angles, and the novelty of the light shining through the empty windows. This is a companion piece to Watt & Shand #5, and the images are from a photograph taken in April, 2007.
Themofax screen prints on cotton, digital prints on cotton, artist-painted and commercial silk and cotton fabric, machine stitching.
