White Mulberry

This small tree is native to China, where it is used to feed silkworms. Its edible berries are relished by birds, and it has escaped cultivation to spring up in the types of weedy, neglected areas I find so interesting.

I am also delighted by the way there are three differently shaped leaves all growing simultaneously. Heliographic print on cotton, artist-painted and commercial fabrics, machine stitching.

Size: 51" x 52"

For Sale: $5,500
