Royal Paulownia

This is another work that shows my fascination with gigantic leaves. The two images are life-size prints from leaves of the Royal Paulownia tree, an Asian native that has established itself here.

The top image is a heliographic print, the lower one is a cyanotype. The borders are pieced from silks and handwoven Indian cottons, with raw silk corner blocks. It is extensively machine stitched, painted, and hand beaded.

Size: 38" x 58"
